Marshall's century lifts St Ann

Xavier Marshall scored a century on Sunday to help St. Ann score an easy innings and 54 runs win over Boys' Town at Collie Smith Drive.

The victory pushed St. Ann into a 12-point lead atop the Red Stripe Cricket Championship.

With two matches to play, St Ann moved to 32 points, 11 more than Hanover, who pocketed first innings points from St. Mary. Hanover they have three matches in hand.

Portland (18) and Police (16), also with three matches to play, are in third and fourth positions respectively.

At Collie Smith Drive Boys' Town were blown away for 179. Marlon Keating top-scored with 50 and Herbert Haye supported with 30 not out against Xavier Marshall 3-55, Marlon Johnson 2-8, Orville Pennant 2-22.

Good support

In reply, St. Ann made 298 for seven declared, thanks to Marshall's 131. He got good support from Richard Hemmings, 67. Damion Allen took 4-87 and Phillip Keating 3-89.

Batting a second time, Boys' Town were dismissed for 65. Christopher Hamilton took 5-9 and Marshall 3-18.

At Maxfield Park: St. Thomas defeated Kingston & St. Andrew by an innings and 38 runs.

St. Thomas scored 313 and dismissed Kingston & St. Andrew for 135 and 140.

At Gray's Inn: Hanover scored 171 and 163 for six declared to beat St. Mary 138 and 139-8 on first innings.

At Elletson Road: Portland scored 317 to beat Police 225 on first innings.
